Role Overview

The Video Editor will be crucial in transforming raw video footage into engaging and high-quality content for Markexe clients and internal projects across various platforms. This role demands a strong understanding of video editing principles, storytelling through visuals, and the ability to create compelling long-form videos, short-form content, and engaging social media reels.

The Video Editor will work collaboratively with the marketing and content teams to bring their vision to life, ensuring all video content aligns with brand guidelines and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Video Editing: Transform raw video footage into polished and engaging long-form videos (e.g., webinars, presentations), ensuring smooth transitions, clear storytelling, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Short-Form Video Creation: Produce concise and impactful short-form videos for various marketing purposes (e.g., promotional videos, explainers), optimizing for engagement and clarity.
  • Social Media Reel Production: Create visually appealing and attention-grabbing social media reels (e.g., TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn) optimized for platform-specific best practices and trends.
  • Visual Enhancement: Incorporate graphics, text overlays, animations, and other visual elements to enhance video content and convey key messages effectively.
  • Audio Refinement: Ensure high-quality audio by cleaning up sound, adding background music, and balancing audio levels for a professional finish.
  • Color Correction: Perform basic color correction and grading to achieve a consistent and visually appealing look across all video content.
  • Project Organization: Maintain efficient organization of project files and assets for seamless workflow and future access.
  • Collaborative Partnership: Work closely with the marketing and content teams to understand project briefs, timelines, and feedback, incorporating revisions effectively.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay updated on the latest video editing techniques, software advancements, and social media video trends to ensure content remains fresh and impactful.
  • Brand Alignment: Ensure all video content consistently adheres to Markexe’s brand identity and style guidelines.
  • Deadline Management: Effectively manage time and deliver projects on schedule, meeting agreed-upon deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Video Editor with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in long-form video, short-form video, and social media reel creation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in industry-standard video editing software 
  • Solid understanding of video codecs, formats, and export settings optimized for various online platforms.
  • Firm grasp of visual storytelling principles and the ability to translate concepts into engaging video narratives.
  • Experience integrating motion graphics and basic animation is considered a valuable asset
  • Knowledge of audio editing techniques and software for enhancing sound quality.
  • Familiarity with basic color correction and grading principles to improve visual consistency.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for visual quality and aesthetics.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with the team.
  • Openness to receiving and implementing constructive feedback to refine video content.
  • Reliable internet connection and access to necessary hardware and software for video editing.
